Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) blasted Republicans for calling an immigration hearing about the "rule of law" after President Donald Trump pardoned around 1,500 Jan. 6 rioters, including violent offenders.During Wednesday's House Judiciary Committee hearing, Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-CA) first called out Subcommittee Chair Tom McClintock (R-CA)."Don't tell me that the motivation for the immigration crackdown is public safety when we release these violent criminals back into our communities," she quipped.Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), chair of the full Judiciary Committee, followed by faulting the Biden administration for allowing immigrants into the country."Who wouldn't want to come to the greatest country ever?" he ranted. "But you've got to do it legally."Raskin pushed back after Jordan's remarks."The chairman began by saying the point here is to restore the rule of law," Raskin noted.
